Early Elementary – JK-GR 2
After assessing reading readiness we will create a plan that will provide a solid base for learning to read. Our programme involves the three elements needed to learn to read: print recognition, speech sound recognition and phonemic recognition.
Studies have shown that early phonemic recognition is an important predictor of reading and school success (Evans, Bell, Moretti & Page, 2006). We employ the Jolly Phonics method in our teaching and foster a love of learning that will remain throughout the child’s academic career and beyond.
Once reading on their own is achieved, we will then look at texts for comprehension, relate them to real-life experiences, and infer and predict what will happen next.

Didn't finish that pot of coffee or tea this morning? Don't pour it down the drain, use it to water your plants! It gives them a healthy boost of nitrogen and you waste much less water!
